Half Term Craft at Lancaster Maritime Museum – 28 May- 31st May 

Join Lancaster Maritime Museum this May Half Term for family-friendly Dino day half term events:

Catch the Light – Make a beautiful Suncatcher to hang in your window.

Ahoy there Matey! – Make a peg doll shipmate.

Pom Pom Creatures – Create a crazy pom pom creature (supported by Yarncaster)

Fantastic Fossils – Find out all about how fossils are formed with their Dino expert and create your own to take home. (These sessions are FREE supported by Lancaster BID)

All session times: 10.15am, 11.15am, 12.30pm, 1.30pm, 2.30pm

Museum admission: Adults £3, Concessions £2, Children and local adults free (postcode LA1-LA6)

All workshops (expect Fantastic Fossils) – £1 per child. Booking advisable to avoid disappointment. 

 

Lunesdale Studio Art Trail – 25-27 May

With its growing popularity and reputation, the Lunesdale Arts Trail has become a significant annual creative event in the calendar of the North West. For more than 20 years visitors have followed the art trail in and around the Lune valley, seeking out the studios and workplaces of artists producing ceramics, paintings, woven/felted textiles, sculpture, lino cuts and creative glass.

 

Half Term at Lancaster City Museum – 28th – 31st May

Not only can your little ones learn about Lancaster’s past but they can also take part in some fun Dinosaur themed workshops as part of Lancaster BIDs Dino Day.

Feathered Friends 

Get in the mood for an Art Safari by making your very own feathered friend inspired by and artwork in the Museums current exhibition by The Lancaster and District Art Society.

Pom Pom Beasties

Come along and join in the woolly fun in preparation for Fantastic Lancaster Beasts taking place this summer. Make a pom pom or two, add to the museums beastie and make a critter to take home. £1 each.

Woolly Prehistoric Dino’s

It is Dino Day on Friday 31st May, get in the mood by joining us for our woolly craft session. Have a go at creating your own woolly prehistoric Dino or mammoth.
£1 each.

Dino Day Trail 

Become a dinosaur hunter and explore the museum. Discover some fun Dino facts along the way. Complete the trail to be entered into our prize draw to win a chocolate dinosaur and Dino goody bag. 50p per entry.

All sessions 10.30am-12.30pm & 2pm -4pm

 

Family-Friendly Cinema

The Lego movie 2 – Saturday 18th & Thursday 30 May –  1.30pm 

Five years ago everything was awesome! But now Emmett Brickowski and his friends are facing a huge new threat, as Lego Duplo invaders from outer space have destroyed their world quicker than they can rebuild it. Can Emmett save the day and make everything awesome again?

Legendary creature Mr. Link recruits myths and monsters investigator Sir Lionel Frost and the daring adventurer Adelina Fortnight to help him find his long-lost relatives believed to be in the fabled valley of Shangri-La.

School Holidays at Salt Ayre Leisure Centre – 28th May- 31st May 

Nerf Wars – Friday 31st May – 2pm – 3pm & 3.15pm – 4.15pm

Let the battle commence! In two teams you will be armed with the very latest in NERF weapons, which you will use to compete in the NERF wars arena battling to be the surviving team. £6 per child, suitable for 9 – 12 years.

Creation Station – Tuesday 28th May – 9.30am – 10.30am or 11am – 12pm

A fantastic kids arts and crafts class, suitable for girls and boys aged 2 to 11 years. Please note children must be accompanied by an adult at all times, a maximum of 2 adults per child.

Roll up, roll up the circus in town in May! Join us to become part of the circus: make your own trapeze artist, clown accessories, party blower elephant as well as creating clay creations and painting a big top with all the circus acts you can think of.

Crazy Inflatable Swim Party – Tuesday 28th & Thursday 30th May – 11am – 1pm

A fun-filled event for all of the family. There will be large and small floats as well as our giant pool inflatable, all set to fun party music. £6 per person.  All children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by a responsible adult; all pool admission rules apply. Half Term at the Judges Lodgings – Friday 31st May 

Have a jam-packed half term at the Judges Lodgings and enjoy lots of workshops and activities…

Punch and Judy – 11.15-12.30 & 1.15-2.15

Shout and boo at a traditional Punch and Judy show then make your own puppets. £2 per child, suitable for ages 4-10 years. Booking required.

Dinosaur Poo & Slime Workshop – 11am- 4pm

Come and make your own dinosaur dung at Lancaster Judges’ Lodgings Museum.

Find out about dinosaur diets and then get stuck in making some slime and poop! £1 per child, suitable for ages 3-14 years. No booking required.

 

Down by the Riverside Festival – 31st May – 2nd June 

Down By The Riverside is a Unique Festival set on the banks of the River Wyre in the beautiful heartland of Bowland, the ancient hunting ground of the Kings. We deliver all the usual festival goodies with 3 Live Music Stages, DJ’s, Outdoor Theatre, Craft Ales, Cocktails, Foods from around the world, Funfairs, Activities, Workshops, Camping & Glamping.

 

Dino Day – 31st May 

Did you know that Sir Richard Owen, the man who invented the word Dinosaur who was born right here in Lancaster! For the third year, lifelike dinosaurs will descend on Lancaster City Centre for a DINOmite day of fun for the whole family!
