Bella and her mother live alone in the countryside, scrimping and saving to make ends meet. But, not far from their farm, in the forest, there is a terrible secret waiting to be uncovered that has made the land barren.
Kidnapped by the fearsome Beast, Bella discovers that he might not be the mean-spirited creature that she has been told about – and that the curse he is under can be broken.

Richard Durrant Candlelit Christmas Concert

The guitarist and composer Richard Durrant heralds the start of another Christmas season with his family-friendly Candlelit Christmas Concerts.
With Christmas songs and wintry folk music, traditional carols and solo guitar music this will be a seasonal, musical feast and Richard’s first live tour for nearly two years.
Richard will be joined onstage by his sons Django and Felix, legendary musician Brian Gulland and much-loved Christmas regular the singer Amy Kakoura.
Christmas Tree Festival

Christ Church’s first ever Christmas Tree Festival! 35 trees have been sponsored by local businesses, and decorated by local groups, charities and organisations to showcase their work. Affordable Art Fair – Iron Press Printmaking

Lighting up the community differently this year…
We are delighted to be putting on the Kirkby Lonsdale Christmas Fair this year on Friday 3rd – Sunday 5th December. We have taken the decision to make it a community focused event with a slightly different programme than usual: you can look forward to a smaller, spacious chalet village, indoor market and late-night shopping; a community focused Christmas light switch-on, lantern procession and carol singing; a community play called Peter’s Promise and guided lantern walks over the Christmas Fair weekend.
We are placing an emphasis on #shoplocal #belocal #staylocal and we hope that by Christmas 2022 we will be able to put on a fully fledged Christmas extravaganza…
Big Fat Christmas Market
4th, 5th, 11th & 12th December
It is the most wonderful time of the year! It wouldn’t be Xmas without Kanteena’s Big Fat Xmas Markets and this year will not disappoint!
We have a fabulous array of stalls for you. From the retro to the unique, the homemade to the homegrown, the upcycled to the crafted, the edible to the naturally sourced and so much more in between. All from local and independent stall holders.
We have 4 different dates and with a different mix of stall holders in our new space – The 2 main halls, ATIKA (upstairs) and undercover in our courtyard.
Once again we will have our wonderful Xmas tree’s for sale!
And… we have a very important VIP who may well be just visiting on his sleigh…
Festive food and drink will be served all day, alongside sweet music. So come along and soak up the festivities!

Marketgate Shopping Centre, Lancaster
This magical event is sure to bring a smile to the whole family with a chance to meet Santa and his reindeer.
The Cairngorm Reindeer will be in St Nic’s Arcade from 12.00 til 3.00. Whilst seeing the reindeer, children will also have the chance to meet Santa to receive a small gift and have their photo taken sitting with him in his sleigh.
The event will extend into the wider city centre with a colouring workshop and FREE facepainting in the Marketgate Shopping Centre as well as fairground rides for the children to enjoy in Market Square and Horseshoe Corner.
Finally, to complete the fun, make sure to keep an eye out for our elf and baby reindeer puppet who will be popping up around the city centre throughout the day.
Bloom & Grow Christmas Wreath Workshops

It’s that time of year again! Come and make your own festive Christmas wreath to hang on your front door. All resources will be provided to suit your style. We will use sustainable floristry methods to create your wreath.
I’ll talk you through how to make your wreath step by step, whilst enjoying some free refreshments and festive music, in the stunning Ashton Memorial hall!
The cost of this workshop is £45pp including all materials and of course you get to take the wreath home at the end
Needle Felting Workshop

We’re glad to be back at Lancaster Priory to share new arrangements we’ve made over the past couple of years since the last live performance of Sufjan’s songs in Edinburgh 2019.

Would you like to develop an extra art skill and learn to use manicure scissors in creative way? Come and join us for a papercutting workshop.
Learn the story of Polish Wycinanki – intricate paper cut-outs – have been a popular folk craft in Poland since the 1900s.papercutting, learn the history of intricate patterns popular in Poland, learn to use manicure scissors in a creative way and have fun creating a Christmas card.
In this workshop, participants will be introduced to the history of Polish papercutting, shown various intricate designs and will learn how to create their own Christmas card decorated with Wycinanki.
The workshop will cover the following areas:
• an introduction to paper cutting with a look at some examples,
• a quick run-through of the tools needed,
• essential tips and tricks in paper cutting,
• work on practice sheets,
• create a final project from a choice of the original templates.
Don’t worry – drawing skills are not essential! You just need a steady hand and a bit of patience!

Festive 4K Fun Run
Starting at Salt Ayre
Lancaster & Morecambe AC is organising its popular Christmas 4k Festive Fun Run from the clubhouse on the athletics track at Salt Ayre Leisure Centre, near Lancaster (LA1 5JS) again this year. It will be on Wednesday December 29th at 11am and this year it will be the 21st anniversary of the launch of the run.
It is aimed at families and fun runners as well as more regular competitors. There will be a great atmosphere and a super festive medal for all finishers. All runners are very welcome to run in fancy dress.
It’s only £5 to enter with an extra £3 for registrations on the day. The route is flat and around 4k. Since this is always a very popular fun run with a limit of 400 runners, we really recommend that people register on-line in advance.
There will be a really great range of spot prizes on the day including sponsored vouchers and prizes.
