Having Fun with our Follow Your Nose Trail

Our pledge is to make our museums great places for children and young people to visit. We love nothing more than hearing children having fun in the galleries; that moment when they walk in and say “WOW!”; it makes our day.

No need to tiptoe around and whisper, just explore, discover and have lots of fun – You will probably learn things too.

Our History Detectives Club has been designed to engage children with history. You can find more details by following the link below.

Our exhibitions will almost always have an element that is designed for families. We also run regular events and craft sessions, such as our monthly Saturday Art Adventures at the Maritime Museum.

Find more information about School Visits here.

If you have a child with additional needs, then please get in touch and we can have a chat about how we can help e.g. we may be able to open up slightly early for families who need a quiet time to visit.

Lancaster City Museums have signed the Kids in Museums Manifesto. Find out what that means, and more about Kids in Museums here.
