If you’re missing visiting galleries and theatres, and being inspired by the wealth of talent that is out there – King Street Studios has the perfect offer for you! Their Associate Artists haven’t been idle in lockdown – they’ve been working from home and engaging with each other via Zoom – and coming up with some amazing artworks all inspired by their experiences over the past few months. These artworks are now being displayed as an online exhibition entitled ‘Homework’.
Although artists are used to working in isolation, lockdown has brought new challenges and inspiration to each artist and their creative processes. Some of the works invoke joy; some sadness. They are inspired by loneliness or the fleetingness of life. They are born out of the strangeness of this period and its feelings of frustration. They recall happy memories and reflect the beauty of the nature around us and the time we have to pause and meditate. They show the pathos of abandoned items and the poignancy of socially-distanced family meet-ups. They bring hope, through creativity, collaboration and caring.
We hope you enjoy the diversity of the work. All the pieces are for sale so if any of the pieces resonate, we would love them to find a permanent home with you so they can bring you joy for a long time to come.
All prices are for the work: mount and/or frame, where needed, is priced separately.
