Join Lancaster Grand Theatre for a concert of live music and entertainment in support of families and friends from Ukraine. In partnership with Lancaster and Morecambe City of Sanctuary and Lancashire County Council’s Refugee Integration Team, the concert, for all those who wish to support, will be a celebration, welcoming individuals and families displaced by the current conflict.
Information about charity organisations:
City of Sanctuary Lancaster and Morecambe is a charity which supports asylum seekers and refugees living in the local area. The people we support arrive in the UK from all over the world having made perilous and traumatic journeys, often for many months, fleeing conflict, torture or persecution. Often they arrive with very few possessions and with only a few sentences of English. Our team of volunteers offer a warm welcome to Lancaster: teaching new residents in English classes, providing football boots and coaching, organising social activities and coordinating donations of clothing, phones and furniture. We are also delighted to welcome new neighbours to Lancaster from Ukraine and are pleased to be able to offer them English classes and support. As we are an organisation run by volunteers and are currently experiencing unprecedented demand for our services, your donation will make an enormous difference to the support we can offer. It will help to buy welcome packs for asylum seekers, expand our English programme and show love to those seeking sanctuary.
Lancashire County Council Refugee Integration Team are pleased to welcome Ukrainian friends to our beautiful county! Our team are available to offer advice and information for guests and their sponsors, including support with accessing healthcare, school places, ESOL classes, employment and benefits advice and local social groups and activities.
