The Cottage Museum

WELCOME TO THE LANCASTER COTTAGE MUSEUM PAGES

Here you can discover more about life in Lancaster at the Cottage Museum, the smallest museum in the city.

We are constantly uploading new content onto our website. Please come back for more!

The Museum, facing Lancaster Castle and just a short walk from the Judges Lodgings, is part of a 1739 house, subdivided in about 1820 and furnished as an artisan’s house of that date.

This wonderfully immersive museum provides an intimate glimpse of early Victorian life in a tiny and intriguing 18th century cottage, which is (you wouldn’t know to look at it) spread over five floors.
