Spotlight on Renes Fashion

Renes Fashion is a designer ladies clothes shop based in the centre of Lancaster, selling a wide range of clothing and fashion accessories from around the globe.

Owners Amanda and Tiffany are proud to still very much embrace the “Personal Shopping Experience” and “Personal Touch” for Renes Fashion, a service that is ever diminishing in shops around the world.

We spoke with co-owner Tiffany Moore and here’s what she has to share.

How would you describe Renes Fashion in a line or two?
Renes Fashion is a ladies clothes shop catering to every age, style and taste. Our brands cover formal occasionwear to casual loungewear and are sourced globally which brings in a diverse selection. We continue to work with the designers to access more sustainable brands, which we feel are increasingly important to our customers and ourselves going forward.

What was the inspiration behind starting Renes Fashion?
The shop was established by our grandmother who realised there was a “gap” in the supply of ladies clothing in Lancaster. We are just keeping the business rolling and ever-evolving in these changing times.

What was Renes Fashion like in the early days?
The first shop was established in 1955 by Irene Newby along with her daughter Pamela and soon to follow Brenda, more shops followed thereafter, finally residing on King Street in Lancaster spanning three floors with a quadruple frontage. Renes adjourned the latest fashion and bridalwear in the region. Ask any local girl and you can guarantee Renes is where they bought their wedding dress or first teen outfit! It was so popular during sale times that a queue formed around the shop before opening time.

What are you excited about in the months and years ahead?
Renes has gone from a traditional shop (as they were known) to a brand that now has a strong social media presence via all social media channels and on-line.

We are just inspired to keep the business rolling after so many years. Grow our online and social media platforms enabling us to be ready for the challenges ahead, whatever they may be.

What’s the most extravagant designer item you’ve stocked?
Emporio Armani is one of our premium brands and last season AW21 we had a fabulous Red Silk Dress selling at over £500. Just decadent and stunning!

Which designer brand is the most popular with your customers?
We have a diverse collection of brands that cater for all age groups and tastes. There is no one brand that particularly stands out as the most popular although since the pandemic we have brought on new collections to reflect the casual, loungewear feel that customers are currently looking for and CHALK and BLACK COLOUR have been exceptional contenders in that regard.

What are your favourite clothing colours for Spring?
This Spring 2021 the accent is definitely on pastels. It is always fabulous to see all the colours arriving in store after the long dark winter months. A pop of blue is also very much featured in all Collections this spring/summer with most of the ranges having a shade of blue featuring in their clothing lines.
